At all our sites, we identify and evaluate risks that our plants might pose to employees and any neighbouring companies or people living in the vicinity. Furthermore, we have implemented a company-wide management system, the Major Hazards Review Programme, to record in a uniform manner the biggest threats facing our plants worldwide. Through the Major Hazards Review Programme we monitor risks for all sites and define control mechanisms to minimise these risks as far as possible.国产a片
Linde has established emergency plans on a global basis to be prepared in the event of a critical incident. These plans take into account adverse events such as fires and explosions, whilst also considering the potential impact of natural disasters, crime and pandemics on the Group’s sites and business processes. So that the Group can react to these events, responsibilities have been allocated and decision-making channels have been established at the local, regional and Group-wide levels.
Before security officers are employed at our sites, they undergo a thorough security check. Our security specialists are obliged to respect individual dignity and human rights, and to operate in accordance with local laws and regulations. We follow international standards in protecting our sites – for example, the United Nations’ Basic Principles on the Use of Force.
We want to ensure that noise emissions at our sites are minimised for both employees and our neighbours. Accordingly, we regularly check noise levels both inside and outside our business premises, and when necessary implement improvement measures, such as mufflers. Preventive noise protection is an important area for ensuring occupational safety.
Audits and certifications
We verify compliance with these commitments and legal requirements through audits. Every year, numerous audits on safety, health and environmental protection are performed at Linde sites, either by the Group itself or by external parties. Our internal audits meet the requirements set down in the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification standards. If necessary, we also verify high standards in safety, environmental protection and quality through external certifications.
Additional certifications for our sites are in accordance with ISO 50001 (energy management), ISO 22000 (food safety) and Responsible Care regulations, a sustainability initiative of the chemical industry.
